Decal Information
The sheet provides Fighter Shark Mouths Set 2 markings for 1-600 scale aircraft miniatures.
Set 2 includes left- and right-facing shark mouths in four designs, with each design supplied in three sizes for small through large fighters. Eyes are also included; a small dab of white paint is an alternative for the eye detail.
They are printed on clear-background waterslide decal paper. They need to be individually cut out. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.

Historical Information
Shark-mouth designs are a form of aircraft nose art rather than a national insignia. Their appearance depended on the unit, aircraft type and individual painter, so the shape of the mouth and teeth was never governed by one universal pattern.
The design became especially recognizable during World War II on fighter and attack aircraft. The contours of a nose, radiator intake or engine cowling could be used to suggest an open mouth, with eyes completing the effect on many aircraft.
Variations continued in later military aviation. A mouth used by one unit should not automatically be assigned to another, even when the aircraft type is the same; changes in camouflage and repainting could also alter the design.
The mirrored sides and different sizes on this sheet allow the markings to be fitted to different miniature noses. For a historical model, select the closest design using a photograph of the intended airframe rather than treating every included mouth as interchangeable.
