Historical Information
The USS Kearsarge (CV-33) was an Essex-class fleet aircraft carrier operated by the United States Navy. She was one of 24 completed ships in the class from 32 ordered and was commissioned on March 2, 1946.
Built from the wartime Essex-class program, Kearsarge entered service after World War II. Her principal operational history included postwar Pacific duty and combat service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
