Historical Information
USS Siboney (CVE-112) was built by Todd-Pacific Shipyards at Tacoma, Washington, and commissioned on 14 May 1945. She completed shakedown and sailed for Pearl Harbor with aircraft and personnel, arriving just as hostilities with Japan ended, so she saw no combat before the surrender. Siboney then supported occupation-era operations in the western Pacific and later served extensively with the Atlantic Fleet, including antisubmarine warfare exercises, Sixth Fleet deployments, and hurricane-relief missions. She was placed out of commission in reserve in 1956, struck from the Navy List in 1970, and sold for scrap in 1971.
