This 1-3000 scale waterslide decal reproduces the deck markings for the CV Hiryu during that period of time. Customers report that most decals fit Davco ship castings fairly well. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.
Historical Information
Hiryu was built at Yokosuka Naval Arsenal as a modified development of the Soryu design and commissioned in 1939. Operating with Soryu in Carrier Division 2, she took part in the Imperial Japanese Navy's major carrier offensives at the beginning of the Pacific War.
