Decal Information

This 1-3000 scale waterslide decal reproduces the deck markings for the CV-67 JFK during that period of time. Customers report that most decals fit Davco ship castings fairly well. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.

Historical Information

The USS John F. Kennedy (CVA/CV-67) was a conventionally powered carrier derived from the Kitty Hawk design but sufficiently modified to form a one-ship class. Built by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, she was commissioned on September 7, 1968.

John F. Kennedy served primarily with the Atlantic Fleet and operated extensively in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Her aircraft flew combat missions during the 1983–84 Lebanon crisis, and the carrier later served as flagship of the Red Sea Battle Force during Operation Desert Storm before supporting Operation Southern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom.
