This 1-3000 scale waterslide decal reproduces the deck markings for the CV-65 Enterprise during that period of time. Customers report that most decals fit Davco ship castings fairly well. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.
Historical Information
The USS Enterprise (CVAN/CVN-65), nicknamed “Big E,” was the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and the only completed ship of her class. Built by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, she was commissioned on November 25, 1961.
Enterprise participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis and the nuclear-powered Operation Sea Orbit world cruise before making multiple Vietnam War combat deployments. Her later service included Operation Frequent Wind, Operation Praying Mantis, Operation Desert Fox, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom during a career spanning more than five decades.
