This 1-3000 scale waterslide decal reproduces the deck markings for the CV-61 Ranger during that period of time. Customers report that most decals fit Davco ship castings fairly well. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.
Historical Information
The USS Ranger (CVA/CV-61) was the third ship of the Forrestal class, built by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company. Commissioned on August 10, 1957, she transferred to the Pacific Fleet and spent much of her career operating from the U.S. West Coast.
Ranger made repeated combat deployments during the Vietnam War and later operated in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf. She supported Operation Earnest Will, flew combat missions during Operation Desert Storm, and returned to the region for Operation Southern Watch before retirement.
