This 1-3000 scale waterslide decal reproduces the deck markings for the CV-16 Lexington during that period of time. Customers report that most decals fit Davco ship castings fairly well. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.

 

Historical Information

The USS Lexington (CV-16) was an Essex-class fleet aircraft carrier operated by the United States Navy. She was one of 24 completed ships in the class from 32 ordered and was commissioned on February 17, 1943.

Lexington served in Pacific operations. Her major assignments included Tarawa, the Marshall Islands, the Marianas, the Philippine Sea, Leyte Gulf, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and strikes against Japan.
