These 1-300 USAF Star and Bar Low Visibility Mid Gray decals reproduce the American national aircraft insignia in a subdued mid-gray finish. The reduced-contrast marking is designed for modern U.S. Air Force aircraft painted in light gray tactical schemes where a black or full-color insignia would appear too prominent.
As U.S. combat aircraft moved toward increasingly subdued camouflage during the later Cold War, national insignia and other external markings were modified to reduce their visibility.
