Historical Information

Republican aviation fought from 1936 to 1939 using a diverse mix of Spanish, French, Soviet, and other aircraft.

Identification markings varied by aircraft, unit, and stage of the war, so the sheet provides a useful selection for the compact aircraft common to the conflict.

These markings are suitable for fighters, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, and trainers and are particularly appropriate for 1936–1939.

The sheet favors more small markings and fewer large markings than a standard 1-300 sheet.
