Historical Information

This decal sheet provides Soviet red-star national markings with a contrasting white outline.

White outlining became increasingly common on Soviet aircraft from late 1942, and during 1943 the white-bordered red star became a widely used VVS identification marking. Border width and exact appearance varied considerably between factories, units and individual aircraft, making this style especially appropriate for mid- to late-war Soviet subjects.

Ideal for Yak, Lavochkin, Il-2, Pe-2 and other mid- to late-war VVS aircraft.
