1-300 RAF Hurricane Squadrons 303, 56 & 111

This sheet contains 12 tactical markings for each squadron, including markings for both the left and right sides of the aircraft. They are sized to our Spitfire / Hurricane 3d prints at 1-300 scale. The No. 303 Squadron markings use a slightly larger roundel than the other two squadrons.

Historical Context

No. 303 Polish Squadron became one of the most celebrated units of the Battle of Britain. Based at Northolt and declared operational at the end of August 1940, its experienced Polish pilots rapidly built an exceptional combat record and finished the campaign as Fighter Command's highest-scoring squadron by contemporary claims. No. 56 Squadron, the "Firebirds," fought over France and Dunkirk before operating from North Weald during the Battle of Britain. No. 111 Squadron was historically significant as the first RAF squadron to convert to the Hawker Hurricane, beginning re-equipment in late 1937.

These markings combine one of the battle's most famous Allied national squadrons with two of the RAF's most experienced Hurricane units.
