Historical Information
The Finnish Air Force adopted the blue swastika in 1918, independently of later Nazi symbolism, and retained it through the Winter War and Continuation War before replacing it in 1945.
The wartime marking was formally standardized and appeared prominently on Finland's unusually diverse inventory of imported and domestic aircraft.
These markings are suitable for fighters, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, and trainers and are particularly appropriate for World War II Finland.
The surrounding white field can be difficult to see in sheet photographs but is part of the printed marking.
