1-300 Eritrean Air Force Roundel Decals
These 1-300 Eritrean Air Force roundel decals reproduce the national aircraft marking associated with Eritrea’s newly established air force after independence. The marking is particularly suited to aircraft from the 1990s, when Eritrea was building an air arm from former Ethiopian equipment and newly acquired aircraft.
Decal Information
The sheet includes Eritrean Air Force Roundel markings suitable for use on 1-300 scale aircraft miniatures.
They are printed on clear-background waterslide decal paper. They need to be individually cut out. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.

Historical Information
Eritrea achieved independence from Ethiopia in 1993, and the Eritrean Air Force was established in 1994. Its earliest aircraft included equipment left behind or inherited from Ethiopian forces, supported by personnel with previous Ethiopian Air Force experience.
The force expanded rapidly as tensions with Ethiopia increased. During the 1998–2000 Eritrean–Ethiopian War, Eritrea operated combat aircraft including the MiG-29, along with trainers, transports, and helicopters. Early Eritrean roundels were used during this formative period before later insignia variations appeared.
These markings are ideal for aircraft representing the early Eritrean Air Force and the Eritrean–Ethiopian conflict.
The Eritrean Air Force was created only after independence, and its markings evolved during the service’s rapid early development. Reference photographs are recommended when modeling a specific aircraft from the 1994–2000 period or later service.
