Historical Information
Arabic-speaking air forces have used a variety of serial, tactical and individual aircraft numbers. The exact numeral style, size and placement varies by country, service, aircraft type and period.

There is no single pan-Arab aircraft-numbering standard, so period photographs are recommended when matching these markings to a specific aircraft.
