1-1800 Scale Kriegsmarine Red Deck Banner Decals (Small)
1-1800 scale waterslide decals reproducing the full red-background aerial-recognition deck panels used on selected WWII Kriegsmarine warships. Unlike the separate swastika and Balkenkreuz emblem sheets, these decals represent the complete flag-like recognition panel with its red field.
They are printed on clear-background waterslide decal paper, allowing the surrounding deck color to remain visible outside the printed recognition panel.
 
Historical Information
Kriegsmarine warships used conspicuous deck recognition panels to help German aircraft identify friendly ships from above. On some ships, including major surface combatants, the red field and central recognition emblem were painted directly onto the deck. Their use varied by ship, date, and theater, and they were sometimes covered or removed when no longer operationally useful.
 
Model Compatibility
Designed for reasonably scaled 1-1800 Kriegsmarine miniatures where a smaller recognition panel is appropriate. Because deck dimensions and available marking space vary by ship and manufacturer, test-fit and trim as needed before application.
 
Custom Fitting
The edges of the recognition panel may need to be trimmed to fit the available deck area on the specific miniature. A practical method is to make a cardstock template that fits the model, trace that outline onto the back of the decal, and then cut the decal to shape before application.
 
Application
